Identical agency, new model: Riker Danzig formally shortens identify, relaunches web site

Riker Danzig co-Chairman Brian O’Donnell made it clear: The rich history of the 140-year-old firm will be maintained during the modern refresh and relaunch of its name and website.

Starting Wednesday, however, the Morristown-based firm officially will be known as Riker Danzig — instead of the more formal Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti, which had been in place since 1990.

“The inestimable influence of our name partners on our firm, our reputation and our practice remain today,” O’Donnell said.  “We never want to lose the rich history of the firm.

“By rebranding as Riker Danzig, we are simply in line with the reality of our common name in the business and legal worlds, allowing for a more dynamic brand presence.”

The firm’s new website reflects this dynamic approach, with its home page featuring a view of Riker Danzig’s headquarters in Morristown, and photos throughout the site of its attorneys working together, allowing the firm’s collegial culture and collaborative personality to come through.

About Riker Danzig

Headquartered in Morristown, with additional offices in Trenton, Roseland and Midtown Manhattan, the firm is focused on providing high-quality legal services to the business community.

Riker Danzig has earned a national reputation for expertise in trial and appellate litigation, insurance, commercial law and bankruptcy and, in addition, has highly respected practices in products liability, environmental law, governmental affairs, real estate, white collar criminal and investigations, employment law, corporate law and mergers & acquisitions, public utilities, intellectual property, tax and trusts and estates, school law and family practice.

Riker Danzig’s thought leadership is highlighted and easily accessible through multiple avenues on the site, according to co-Managing Partner Michael O’Donnell (no relation to Brian O’Donnell). Michael O’Donnell also served as chair of the firm’s practice development committee, which led the website development project.

“Our new website was designed for an intuitive user experience, providing easy access to the information our clients want, with seamless links between industries, practices, thought leadership and attorney bios,” he said.

Riker Danzig’s logo also got a slight update as part of the refresh.

The firm, which was founded in 1882 as Riker & Riker in Newark, has changed its name throughout its history.

The most recent firm name, Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti, had been in place since 1990. Everett Scherer was a highly respected New Jersey Superior Court judge, while William Hyland and Peter Perretti Jr. were both state attorneys general.
