Lithuania's Parliament Is Contemplating Invoice To Change Excise Tax Charges For Alcohol And Tobacco To

The Lithuanian Parliament (Seimas) on June 14th adopted Law No. XIVP-636 amending the rates of excise duty on alcohol and tobacco products for consideration. The bill includes annual excise tax rates for 2022-24 for: 1) ethyl alcohol and alcoholic beverages; 2) heating tobacco products and e-cigarette liquid; 3) intermediate products with an actual alcoholic strength by volume; and 4) manufactured and unmade tobacco. The bill also provides a deadline for filing excise taxes and paying on February 15, 2022. The law would generally come into force on January 1, 2022. (Lithuania, Parliament, 06/14/21)
