Philippine customs destroyed seven luxurious sports activities vehicles as a result of their house owners evaded taxes by importing them

Seven luxury sports cars were destroyed by Philippine customs within the framework of a campaign against the illegal traffic of vehicles. They were all seized after having detected irregularities in their import processes in order to evade taxes.

It was the Customs Office (Bureau of Customs or BOC) that organized the destruction event and summoned the local press, with the aim of spreading the punishment for violating the law and raising awareness among citizens. Everything was recorded in the following video.

Cars destroyed in the Philippines due to import irregularities

In the video you can see how the shovel of the official vehicle punishes each of the seized cars to the point of crushing the roof and leaving them without any possibility of being used.

Among the destroyed models there are a Mercedes SLK, a Bentley Continental, a Porsche Carrera, a Lotus Elise, a Porsche Carrera S and a McLaren 620R.

The McLaren 620R buyer imported it like it was a Porsche Cayman; that is to say, it arrived at the port with the label of the German brand. Here is the key: the Cayman taxes were approximately 26,000 euros, 10 percent of what he would have paid for the 620R, which in that country is worth 571,000 euros and, therefore, was taxed at 275,000 euros.

It’s all moved to save around 250,000 euros in taxes It went wrong because the container in which it arrived in the country was selected for control and the customs agents realized the trap.

The stories of the rest of the units are similar: the owners of the cars wanted to be alive, they were discovered by customs and punished where it hurts the most. Of course, beyond all that, it is not a pleasant image for iron lovers to see machines of this type being crushed by those who bought them.

It is not the first time in the Philippines they wrecked luxury cars in order to promote respect for tax laws and give a message to society. Some time ago, the Government of that country broadcast on TV the destruction of Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW and Mercedes-Benz models, among other brands. Back then, there were 76 vehicles worth $ 5.5 million.

Obviously the Philippine government has no mercy when it comes to punishing citizens who break tax rules …
