Washington DOR publishes draft excise recommendation to clarify tax legal responsibility and acquire credit score bureau companies

The Washington Treasury Department issued a draft excise tax advisory on April 1, which outlines tax liability and how to obtain credit bureau services. The services include the compilation or evaluation of information relating to a person's creditworthiness in order to pass this information on to third parties. The sales of the Services are retail sales, are subject to retail sales and use taxes, and the gross proceeds from such sales are subject to trade and occupational taxes according to the retail classification.
