The Australian Official Gazette Aug. 11 published Act No. 79/2021, amending various tax measures due to the coronavirus pandemic. The law includes measures: 1) introducing additional kinds of coronavirus economic response payments to entities affected by the pandemic; and 2) amending the income tax law to make payments received by eligible businesses non-assessable non-exempt income, so that the payments aren’t subject to income tax.
