Miranda promotes 11 legal professionals – Iberian Lawyer

Miranda & Associados has just announced the promotion of eleven of its associate lawyers.

Ricardo Saraiva was promoted to the category of principal associate. He has been a member of Miranda since 2015 and has more than 10 years of experience in the areas of Litigation & Arbitration, Construction and Contracts, including the FIDIC model. He holds a degree from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, a postgraduate degree in International Business Law from the Queen Mary School of Law, University of London and, among other qualifications, he has a Minor in Political Science from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the University of New from Lisbon.

In turn, seven lawyers who belong to different Practice Areas and Jurisdiction Groups at Miranda were promoted to senior associates:

Ana Luísa Especial, has more than 10 years of experience and has been a member of the Porto da Miranda office since 2019. Since then, her practice has focused on the areas of Litigation, Commercial, Insolvency and Corporate and Labor Recovery. She has a degree and a master’s degree in ‘Legal and Business Sciences’ from the Faculty of Law of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and a postgraduate degree in ‘Sports Law’ from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra.

Catarina Campelo, who has been a member of Miranda since 2019, has about 10 years of experience and integrates the practice areas of Real Estate Law and Commercial & Corporate Law. She is also part of the Cape Verde Jurisdiction Group. She holds a degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto, and has a Master’s degree in ‘Legal and Business Sciences’ and a postgraduate degree in ‘Real Estate Law’ from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.

Diana Bernardino has about 15 years of experience, working in the Litigation & Arbitration practice area since 2017. Since then, her practice has focused essentially on the areas of civil and commercial litigation and insolvency and company restructuring. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, has a master’s degree in ‘Corporate Law’ and a postgraduate degree in ‘Banking, Stock Exchange and Insurance Law’ from the same University, as well as a master’s degree in ‘Law and Management ‘ by the Nova School of Business & Economics.

Joana Graça Moura joined Miranda in 2016 and her activity in the last five years has focused on the areas of Tax Law and Compliance. The lawyer has a degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lisbon, having participated in several specific training courses, namely ‘Compliance’ by the São Paulo Law School of Fundação Getúlio Vargas and ‘Accounting and Analysis of Balance Sheets’ by the Institute of Studies for Business Development.

Susana Tenentinho has more than 10 years of experience, working in the Commercial, Corporate and Projects practice area since 2018. Her activity at Miranda has focused on commercial and corporate matters, contracts in general, foreign investment, mergers and acquisitions. and public-private partnerships and project finance. She has a degree in Law and a postgraduate degree in ‘Public Procurement’ from the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lisbon, having attended postgraduate courses in ‘Commercial Companies’ and ‘Open and Market Societies’ by the same University.

Tânia Santos joined Miranda in 2016, at the Porto office, and has about 8 years of experience in the areas of public and administrative law and litigation and arbitration. She has focused her practice on areas related to the construction and public procurement sector and a large part of her activity is dedicated to advising Clients in public tenders and their representation in arbitration and judicial proceedings, in contract matters, concessions and transport. She has a degree and a master’s degree in ‘Administrative Law’, with a dissertation on Public Procurement, from the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto, having also attended the postgraduate course in ‘Public Procurement’, at the Center for Studies in Public Law and Regulation.

Tereza Garcia André started her professional career at Miranda in 2012, having worked at the Miranda branch in Timor-Leste in the period 2015-2018. She currently has 10 years of experience and her activities cover commercial & contracts, corporate, foreign investment, labor and regulatory matters, with a focus on the oil and gas, mining and tourism industries. She is also part of the Timor-Leste Jurisdiction Group. She has a degree in Law and an LL.M in Law in an European and Global Context from the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lisbon, and an LL.M in Commercial Law from King’s College London, with special emphasis on the areas of Investment and Arbitration.

Three lawyers who integrate different areas of Miranda’s practice, in the Lisbon and Porto offices, were also promoted to the Associate category:

Hortência Machiana, who has been a member of Miranda since 2013, focuses her activity in the areas of commercial & corporate law, contracts in general, foreign and regulatory investment, with a focus on the jurisdictions of Portugal and Mozambique. He is part of the Mozambican Jurisdiction Group. She is a graduate and has a master’s degree in ‘Capital Markets’ from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.

Joana Martins Ramos has been a member of Miranda since 2019, in the Porto office, and has around 6 years of experience in the areas of labor law and litigation. The lawyer has a degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, having attended the postgraduate courses in “Divorce” at the Center for Family Law at the University of Coimbra and in “Labour Law”, taught by IDET. She also participated in several one-off training courses, namely the ‘Intensive Thanatology Course’, the ‘Procedural Labor Practices Course I’ and the ‘Specialization Course in Sports Law’.

Ricardo Cordeiro dos Santos has been working in the Porto da Miranda office since 2020, which is focused on the areas of commercial and corporate, mergers and acquisitions, contracts and real estate. He has a degree from the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Porto and a postgraduate degree in ‘Company Law’ by IDET, having also attended the postgraduate course in ‘Company Law’ at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal and a postgraduate degree in ‘M&A and Corporate Litigation’ from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
