Governor appoints new Treasury Director

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon announced Friday that he has named Brenda Henson as Director of the Treasury. According to the governor's office, Henson was appointed administrator of the Treasury Department's property tax division in July 2013 and retired in March last year. She previously served as an assessor for Laramie County. In her capacity as assessor, she was President of the Wyoming County Assessors Association and the Legislative Chair. She was also the president of the Wyoming Association of County Officers. Henson was also selected to represent Wyoming on the board of the National Association of County Officers. Henson takes over Dan Noble, who has stepped down as director after 13 years.

Governor Gordon said they were fortunate to have someone with Henson's expertise in tax law and Wyoming tax policy to take over the reins of the department. The Wyoming Department of Revenue includes the Administrative Services Division, Liquor Division, Property Tax Division, Excise Tax Division, and Mineral Tax Division.
