Georgia DOR Pronounces Suspension of Motor Gasoline Taxes Because of Cyberattack Emergency

The Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) May 11 announced that crucial fuel pipelines serving much of the Southeast are shut down due to a cyberattack against Colonial Pipeline Company. Collection of motor fuel and diesel fuel taxes are suspended from May 10 to May 15. The suspension of taxes applies only to the Georgia motor fuel excise tax and not to any local sales or use taxes (including prepaid local tax).
