Montana law enacts law to revise property taxes and charges for forest land

The Montana Legislature of May 14 passed a law revising property tax on Class 10 forest land. The law was passed without the consent of the executive branch. The law provides for measures to tax class 10 real estate: 1] 0.34 percent of the value of forest productivity in tax year 2021; 2] 0.31 percent of its forest productivity value in tax year 2022; and 3] 0.37 percent of its forest productivity value in tax years after 2022.
